This may come as a shock to you but in all honesty, Africa looks smaller on maps because of white people’s low self esteem, hate and racism. This is the main reason behind the unnecessary and continued use of a biased sketch called the Mercator projection, which diminishes the true size Africa. There are two excuses used to justify this sketch:
That it was created to highligh the spread of christianity
It was only meant for navigation
But before we dig deeper into these 2 excuses, let us first lay the foundation by defining a few terms.
